The Culinary & Craft School’s front door is framed by rich copper sconces shedding light for all who enter. Each sconce measures approximately 12” wide by 26” high.
A hand-woven copper weave backsplash adorns the back wall of the demonstration kitchen creating a rich backdrop for our cooking and craftsmen presentations.
Master Coppersmith Rex Morton, a coppersmith for nearly 40 years, specializes in copper weavings and free-form repoussé, Read his story and listen as he shares his inspiration for the pieces he so passionately creates.
Morton designs and fashions functional pieces as well as vivid works of art from his shop at Silver Dollar City. One of his larger pieces includes the 10-foot weathervane that sits atop the park's Great Barn, home of The Giant Swing. Meet Rex and watch as he uses hammer and heat to form copper artwork every day at Silver Dollar City's Mission Metals.
