Chip Carved Front Door

The two solid wood doors that greet guests at the Culinary & Craft School are beautifully adorned with precisely carved details including harvest swags and wheat sheafs resting inside geometric ovals. The inset leaded glass is customized with a Culinary & Craft School monogram made of wrought iron by Senior Blacksmith Wayne Rice.

Inside the farmhouse, a chip-carved mantel rests above the kitchen fireplace conveying one simple message: "Let Us Break Bread Together."

Master Woodcarver Pam Gresham is an internationally renowned Chip Carver and author of three books on the ancient carving style. Pam specializes in intricately carved, large-scale pieces such as the fireplace mantel and one-of-kind front entrance doors that grace the Culinary & Craft School.

Pam, along with 80 guest carvers, offers daily woodworking demonstrations for Silver Dollar City guests. The woodcarving shop also hosts an Annual Woodcarving Seminar each spring. For more information on the shop or seminar, visit Valley Road Woodcarvers.
